Although there are many ways to install Jekyll on Windows 10 I have found that the easiest way is using Ruby.
- Download and install Ruby 2.4 (NOT 2.5.0 installer, unless you want to solve issues when installing gems) RubyInstaller for Windows. Make sure you install MSYS2 also.
Install Jekyll and Bundler with
gem install jekyll bundlerfollowed by
bundle installfollowed by
Check if Jekyll installed properly:
If you install jekyll and intend to use an existing jekyll project you should probably update the gem file inside the jekyll project. E.g
gem "jekyll", "3.4.4" to
gem "jekyll", "3.6.0".
